Somacis pass second NadCap audit

For the second time in succession, Somacis passed another Nadcap audit with zero non-conformities and has successfully renewed their certification at their plants in Manfredonia and the headquarters in Castelfidardo. This highly prestigious MERIT CLASS Nadcap accreditation comes from the Performance Review Institute (PRI), a non-profit consortium, specialised in certifications of products and required processes for the aerospace and automotive sectors.

Among the standard requirements for Nadcap Certification is EN ISO 9100 compliance, a specific quality system for aerospace industry already held by all Somacis plants.

Somacis has been fully Nadcap accredited since October 2006 and after only a short few months was inserted in merit program. This year’s audit confirming a merit position for the second consecutive time and a certification extension period of 18 months as opposed to the standard 12 months.

The PRI administers the Nadcap audit program for various special processes such as heat treat, chemical processing (anodizing and such), non-destructive testing and others. As a critical component the process for PCB production also needs to comply. Only under strict compliance will you have the opportunity to cooperate in supply relations with the aerospace industry Tier 1.

In addition to the Nadcap accreditation, Somacis has been a long time voting member and participant within a Nadcap oriented electronic task group (ETG). Within this ETG, a small group of selected companies are responsible for the definition of rules, requirements and appropriate checks required for evaluation during any audit where, the PCB supplier is looking for certification.

An extensive checklist covers all the production processes including the maintenances of machines; from drilling programs, in-process test and analysis and operator training. An extensive and rigorous program where only the best and well prepared are likely to succeed.

Somacis services multiple industry sectors and holds multiple quality systems accreditations in support of their developments; UNI EN ISO 9001, UNI EN 9100,UNI EN ISO 14001 and UNI EN ISO 13485, and obviously the UL homologation.
