Looks at the increased use of Local Area Networks (LANs) in conjunction with CD‐ROM databases in order to make these services more productive and cost‐effective. Examines the use of the LANtastic local area network at the Brunel Center for Research in Denver, Colorado– reveals the advantages and disadvantages of the system.
