West Sussex was the first public library in Britain to have a computer based circulation system. This has now been in operation for nearly four years, and most of you will have heard about it. At this stage, I propose to tell you of some variations from the Brighton system, which John Allen has described in detail. One difference is that we are not convinced of the advantages of a sloping counter. We prefer the flat, uncluttered counter, but this is too involved to discuss at this time.
