EDI for libraries via Ramesys' Genesis

Ramesys is introducing Library EDI (electronic data interchange), a new software module that adds e-commerce capabilities to its widely used Genesis Library system. Library EDI allows libraries to carry out electronic transactions with their suppliers, eliminating the need to re-enter data from paper documents and speeding up the operation of the entire library supply chain. In particular, libraries will be able to place electronic orders for new books and change or cancel existing orders.

Genesis Library is a catalogue and customer contact management system used by libraries throughout the UK and Ireland (e.g. in North Yorkshire, Havering,Kildare, Sandwell and Swansea). Library EDI conforms to standards used by the BIC (Book Industry Communication) and to the international EDIFACT standard for EDI.
