Professionalism as social responsibility in procurement and administration

Dr Joshua Steinfeld is an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Service at Old Dominion University. He is also the Director of the Public Procurement & Contract Management Graduate Certificate program. He received his PhD degree in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University. He also holds an MS degree in Finance from the Johns Hopkins University and an MPS degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Denver. His recent publications examine professionalism in public procurement and administration by conducting empirical studies with practitioners. He has also worked as a consultant for procurement analysis at various non-governmental organizations.

Dr Clifford McCue received his PhD degree in Public Administration from the Florida International University. Prior to earning his PhD degree, he served as the Finance Director and the Budget Director for local governments across the USA. He is the Coordinator of the Bachelor of Public Management Program at the FAU. His current research agenda examines the intersection of professionalization and public administration, including the social and institutional barriers to enhancing accountability, sustainability and good governance. He is one of the world’s authorities on public procurement, and has received a number of awards for his work.

Dr Eric Prier received his PhD degree in Political Science from the Florida State University. He conducts research on and teaches a variety of courses in political economy, research methods and public policy at the Florida Atlantic University. As an international consultant and regular presenter at professional conferences, he has focused his scholarship on numerous aspects of public procurement. His current research agenda examines the intersection of political economy, organization theory, supply chain management and the social and institutional barriers to enhancing accountability, sustainability and good governance in public procurement.
