Purpose

Given the complexity and dynamic nature of subway construction environments, there are numerous potential hazards and safety risks. To prevent major safety incidents and elevate safety management in subway construction, it is imperative to adopt proactive risk control measures and implement effective solution.

Design/methodology/approach

In this study, an overall system framework based on multi-source information integration is designed for subway construction safety and risk management. The methods and techniques for acquiring risk data, monitoring data and inspection data are presented. A hierarchical and multi-level risk prevention and control strategy for major risk source management is proposed, and a three-level monitoring and early warning response mechanism for construction safety management is established. The system development and verification processes are elaborated to validate its feasibility and practical applicability.

Findings

The proposed system framework has been successfully applied in the construction of Shenzhen Metro Line 14 and other projects. Results of the case study demonstrated its implementation effects. The proposed methods effectively achieved multi-level prevention and dynamic control of major risk sources, real-time monitoring and rapid response in early warning management, and timely detection and elimination of safety hazards in subway construction.

Originality/value

The contribution of this paper lies in the development of a system framework based on multi-source information integration for construction safety risk management. The system has been successfully applied in multiple metro projects, providing a replicable solution for similar applications.
