The development of prefabricated buildings is an inevitable direction to achieve the goals of green, low-carbon transformation and sustainable development. However, existing research mainly focuses on the risk factors of prefabricated building supply chain (PBSC), with little research on their resilience influencing factors. This paper aims to identify the influencing factors of prefabricated building supply chain resilience (PBSCR) and to put forward new improvement paths for PBSC management.
This study conducted a questionnaire survey among 122 practitioners in the PBSC through a purposive sampling strategy. The data were statistically verified to construct a system of influencing factors for PBSCR. Based on the opinions of six experts, the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory and interpretive structural model (DEMATEL–ISM) method was established to identify the key influencing factors and clarify the causal relationships.
Sixteen influencing factors are identified in the study, and seven key influencing factors, including supply chain structure quality and supply chain risk management, are further determined. Influencing factors are categorized into three levels, for example, emergency capacity as surface-level influencing factors, redundant resource as deep-level influencing factors and personnel quality level as root-level influencing factors. Therefore, necessary management measures can be taken to enhance the PBSCR in a more targeted manner.
This study proposes enhancement strategies for PBSCR based on the hierarchical results of influencing factors, such as expanding talent recruitment channels and introducing high-quality talents according to the root-level factors. The government should refine policy standards and provide more preferential support policies to alleviate the financial pressure of enterprises. The research results can provide a basis for enterprises and governments to take effective measures to enhance SCR, which is conducive to ensuring the sustainable operation of the supply chain and promoting the healthy and orderly development of the industry.
This study introduces the resilience perspective into the field of prefabricated building supply chain, enriching and improving the theoretical research on PBSCR. The research also combines the objective and systematic DEMATEL–ISM method, expanding the application field of the method and making contributions to the supply chain management of prefabricated building projects in China.
