Noor Dubai Foundation: managing blindness in developing countries

Dr Linzi J. Kemp is an Assistant Professor (Management) in the Faculty of Business and Management, American University of Sharjah. She teaches Leadership and Organizational Behavior. Previously a Faculty Associate at Empire State College, State University of New York, she taught and mentored students in the Centers for Distance Learning and International Programs. Originally from the UK, Dr Kemp has worked there in private and public organizations within education (Lecturer) retail (Area Manager) and the National Health Service (Administrator). Her previous academic and educational experience has been international, including ten years in the UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China.

Mr Immanuel A. Moonesar is the Institutional Research Officer at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD). He is also Associate Editor of SCHOLAR, the UOWD research newsletter, and the Newsletter Editor and Membership Secretary of the Academy of International Business – Middle East North Africa (AIB-MENA) region. His qualifications include a Master of Quality Management (Distinction) from the University of Wollongong Australia (UOW), a Postgraduate Diploma in Institutional Community Nutrition & Dietetics (Distinction) and a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology: Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of West Indies (UWI). Mr Moonesar is also a Registered Dietitian and possesses certifications in NEBOSH Occupational Health and Safety, Project Management: Certified Business Professional (CBP) and Quality Management System Internal Auditors (ISO 9001:2008). His career experience includes quality assurance and management, nutrition and dietetics, teaching and institutional research. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health Services.

Ms Shurooq Al Banna is a Marketing Specialist and has worked with Noor Dubai since its initiation in September 2008. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), a Master of Science in Forensic Science from Kings College University of London (KCL) and a Master's in Strategic Marketing from the University of Wollongong in Dubai. Previously, she worked with the Institute of Cell and Molecular Science in London and later on as a Cytogeneticist in The Genetics Centre, Al Wasl Hospital Dubai.
