Serving the Internet public: the Internet Public Library

The two topics of libraries and the Web would seem to blend perfectly in the Internet Public Library (IPL) (http://ipl.sils.umich.edu/). The Library opened on 17 March 1995. IPL's director Joseph Janes, Assistant Professor in the School of Information and Library Studies at the University of Michigan, spoke about IPL at February's Computers in Libraries conference in London, as IPL was approaching its first anniversary.
