There are a growing number of laptop or portable CD‐ROM drives, some of them quite attractive to look at, and all as different in their own way as they are similar. While TEL does not purport (regrettably!) to be a Byte or a PC Magazine and offer exhaustive tests and evaluations of hardware and software products, at least the following will give you some idea of what's available. It should be noted that some portable CD‐ROM drives are just standalone readers which require being connected to a microcomputer; others, however, are PCs in their own right.
