Gynecologic Pathology CD‐ROM is a companion multimedia CD for use with Debra S. Heller’s instructional text of the same title. It presents an overview of the range of diseases of the female reproductive system. The CD itself contains 368 color pathology slides along with short audio clips in the author’s voice and figure legends for each pathology slide. All of the slides are searchable by title, subject, and section. Users can enable either the teach mode, which displays slide titles and plays the audio portion, or the test mode, which displays the slides without titles or audio. These slides represent nearly 400 cases from the Division of Ob/Gyn Pathology at Columbia University. The CD provides the practicing pathologist a color atlas of common disorders which can be compared with his or her own cases and serve as a broad review of the subspeciality.

Obviously, this CD is incomplete without the textbook it represents. For practicing pathologists and students of pathology, it is obviously a unique reference source, as it provides slides of diseases for opinion and comparison. It is easy to use and load and can be booted on both Windows and Macintosh machines. Although it is highly specialized, I would recommend its use to those involved in gynecology and gynecologic pathology.
