The du Vivier Dermatology Imagebank is an electronic atlas of dermatology containing over 1,500 images of skin diseases. Most of the images are in ultra‐high resolution and 24‐bit true color format. It is a comprehensive electronic guide to skin disease diagnosis for the trainee or non‐expert dermatologist. Each image contains an explanatory caption with key features and diagnostic clues and is classified by disease and cross‐referenced with all the other images. The user can also locate images by body region and lesion type. This product did not come with a user’s manual; but it does have loading instructions for both the Macintosh and PC environments.
As stated, the images are extremely useful for anyone dealing in this specific field as a diagnostic guide. Most useful for students and nonexperts in the identification of specific skin lesions and diseases. There is no mention of a textbook that accompanies this product; but it seems likely from the title that there is one.
