Landscape Construction Details is a companion to the book Time‐Saver Standards for Landscape Construction Details by Nicholas T. Dines and Charles W. Harris. The CD is a full‐featured, interactive CAD library of standard landscape design and construction details, and the first professional level interactive library of landscape construction detail available. Users can find generic details, appropriate applications, installation notes, and common specifications; access current cost data; view color photos of completed projects; download drawings into the CAD program; and add notes about particular details. The product works in both Macintosh and PC environments, and contains over 350 landscape details in CAD and PICT formats.
Once loaded, the user has access to five major areas:

Landscape types which shows nine different types of projects.

Detail types which shows 15 types of landscape construction details.

Design gallery which allows the user to view thumbnail photographs that illustrate finished appearances of construction details in various design settings.

Detail library which allows for searching of type of detail in the context of materials, climate, application (intensity of use), subgrade, and maintenance requirements and

Cost estimates which allows the user to view average costs for particular details (in US and metric units of measure).
The construction studio works in conjunction with these five areas to construct the landscape. Color‐coded details provide easy reference points for the user (e.g. red for Applications conditions, green for Climate conditions, and blue for Subgrade conditions).
I found this product easy to load; and it comes with a very helpful user’s manual. I am sure that the textbook that this product refers to is of immense importance as a reference source during the use of this CD. Anyone involved in landscape construction will find this product of immense value in their work. Apparently, it is also available in a network version for use by companies and small businesses in this line of work.
