If there is a Government policy toward training it is one of detachment or non‐involvement, occasionally modified by the need to do something to meet an emotionally charged situation touched off by either local or temporary misfortune. This being so, it surprises many people — experts in industrial training included — to learn that about 5,000 people, nearly all adults, are trained annually by the Ministry of Labour in its Government Training Centres or in similar establishments with Government financial assistance.
