OUT OF every three boys who start work under the age of 18, only one enters a trade or craft apprenticeship: considering all school‐leavers, boys and girls together, only one in five receive formal training for the work they eventually do. From this it will be seen that only one girl in fifteen, from this age group, receives direct training for her employment.
