Students set agenda

The importance of education for the process of European integration was emphasised at the annual meeting of the European Students' Forum (AEGEE), which represents more than 17,000 students across the continent. The conference focused on the European Education campaign (Eureca), a project which aims to draw up concrete proposals for a new education programme for the whole of Europe. "We will attempt to set up a platform of interest to academia, the institutions, the private sector, the media and non-governmental organizations,"said Karina Hauslmeieer, AEGEE president, who explained that the project answered the Commission's call for a debate on the future of education in Europe.
