THE TRANSISTOR is today a firmly established electronic device which is challenging the thermionic valve in many fields. The pace at which the transistor has been developed has presented a number of problems in the sphere of technical education — not the least of which is sorting through the mass of literature on the subject — but it should now be introduced as a most important section in ‘light current’ electrical engineering syllabuses.
