People + Leisure (col, 30 min), the eighth film in the ‘Our National Heritage’ series, was made in co‐operation with The Countryside in 1970 movement. 1970 has been designated European Conservation Year, the main theme being the impact on the countryside of urban development, industry, agriculture and leisure. This film examines pressures on the countryside which stem from a rapid rise in the number of car‐owning, recreation‐seeking city‐dwellers, and shows some of the steps being taken to solve particular problems.
