The proposals for educational reform suggested by Sir William Alexander in his recent book Towards a New Education Act have been put forward to stimulate informed discussion on the subject. This article is an attempt to consider the possible effect of such proposals on the one sector of our educational system which is in some respects the most affected by them, namely further education.
