The call has gone out for young writers to send in their poems and stories to the 1980 Children's Literary Competitions, the annual event sponsored by W. H. Smith. Leaflets are available from the organisers at Strand House, 10 New Fetter Lane, London EC4 1AD. In recent years prizewinners have had the added encouragement of seeing their work published by Heinemann Education in their book Children as Writers.
