For anyone about to enter the higher education maze, a new publication from the Careers & Occupational Information Centre (COIC), is essential reading. Sponsorships 1986 (28pp A4) gives invaluable information — details of 81 companies and organisations willing to offer sponsorship to young people embarking on first degrees, BTEC or SCTOVEC higher awards, or comparable courses beginning in 1986. The 81 contributors are listed alphabetically, and there is a subject index pointing the reader towards relevant entries. Each entry contains details of the courses concerned, persons eligible, amount offered and supplementary remarks. Three useful appendices explain how to apply to a university, how to apply to a polytechnic, and other sources of finance for studying.
