A major new drive to promote building industry management as an excellent career prospect is called for in a joint report by the Chartered Institute of Building and the Building Employers Confederation entitled Degrees in Building Management: Demand, Provision and Promotion (24 pp A4). The report is produced against the background that over the last two years the number of building degree courses has fallen from 22 to 19, with all the losses being in the university sector. Not only must the building industry resist any further reduction, but it must secure up to three times the present number of graduates.
