The 1961 International Apprentice Competition, Duisburg. An effective means of comparing the skill of apprentices from different European countries has been developing over recent years. It is now a fully‐fledged international competition run under conditions which make it a fair test of just what we in this country need to know now—how well our young workers are trained in comparison with those from other countries. Any difficulties our apprentices may find due to languages or the different measurements used only express and illustrate the realities of the full‐size problems with which the Common Market confronts us.
