CAREERS GUIDANCE has in common with the related field of the Youth Service that the easy solutions have been tried and found wanting. The present stage in both fields is interesting: while much devoted and unstinting work has been carried out by the practitioners it is becoming recognised that our current accomplishments represent an early exploration rather than a lasting or complete solution. In both spheres there is a feeling that a new approach is both desirable and possible.
