A revolutionary method of demonstrating how well pupils have done at secondary school is being pioneered by the West Midlands Examinations Board. The aim is to provide school leavers with a record of achievement which details their personal and academic success stories. It is being piloted at 44 schools in different parts of the region, resulting in at least 2,500 pupils leaving school this year with their own record of achievement documents to add to any examination certificates they may also have been awarded. This figure will rise to over 7,000 pupils next year. By 1990 the Government intends to introduce a system which will cover all school leavers throughout the country.
