Preserving the Wasa (col, 15 min, free). The Swedish warship Wasa sailed on her maiden voyage from Stockholm on 10 August, 1628. But she did not get far; she almost immediately capsized and sank in Stockholm harbour. More than three hundred years later the sunken vessel was located and thus began one of the most painstaking pieces of scientific research and restoration ever undertaken.
