Local grid for learning

Keywords Communications, Education, Internet

A local Internet link between schools, libraries and community centres to deliver educational services to students, teachers and community learners has been developed by ICL.

Benefits of the local grid for learning include: better communications between the local education authority and schools, as well as between schools themselves; improved curriculum support, advice and guidance; easier access for schools to the proposed national grid for learning; and creation of a managed support and training infrastructure to underpin the development of a local learning society.
