Social-affairs ministers meeting in the European Council have agreed to invest 7.3 million euros between 1 January 2000 and 31 December 2004 in the Europass scheme.

This is a European "passport" which will contain details of periods of training and apprenticeship followed by a job-seeker, and should help to further the reciprocal recognition of training in various EU member states.
