Phare scheme for farmers

A 2.5 million euro scheme to help farmers and agricultural organizations in central and eastern Europe to prepare for EU membership has been launched by the European Commission.

Funded by the Phare business-support programme, the project will strengthen the knowledge of EU legislation on food and agriculture in the ten central and eastern European countries in the EU accession process.

It also aims to support the development of representative bodies in these sectors, and provide expert advice.
