Bulgaria will contribute 4.7 million euros towards its participation in the EU Youth programme in the five years to 2006, under proposals put forward by the European Commission. Almost three million euros of the total will come from the EU Phare programme of help to the countries of central and eastern Europe. Bulgaria has been taking part in the Youth programme since 1998.
