Workforce-development plan for hospitality industry
Workforce-development plan for hospitality industry
The Hospitality Training Foundation has joined forces with the Government and key industry figures to launch the workforce-development plan, a skills strategy designed to combat the industry's recruitment, retention and skills shortages. The plan aims to put in place a strategy over the next five years that will help hospitality employers to create a working environment that employees will choose over other industries, and to highlight the size and strength of the industry to canvass appropriate funding support for hospitality learning programmes.
The plan focuses on five priority areas: to improve the image of the industry as an employer; to increase employer engagement in relevant learning and development programmes; to ensure greater uptake of industry-recognized qualifications; to promote career opportunities in the industry; and to ensure up-to-date skills and labour-market intelligence from a central source is available to support strategic development.
