Youth white paper "too limited"

The European Youth Forum is calling for a more ambitious EU youth policy than that proposed in the EU white paper, "A New Impetus for European Youth"(available on the Internet at http://europa.eu.int/comm/education/youth.html). After consulting its members, the forum called for the EU to develop an effective form of mainstreaming youth in areas such as employment, education,social inclusion and equal opportunities. Henrik Soderman, European Youth Forum president, said: "Ministers should respond to the high expectations of youth and develop a policy that will genuinely make a difference to young people in Europe."
