Good communications and good business are inseparable — and yet an unofficial telecommunications hierarchy has been allowed to build up in the UK founded on nothing more rational than geography. With a few notable exceptions — Milton Keynes, Aberdeen, Birmingham and Manchester — the telecommunications explosion has rocked London and left the rest of the country unscathed.
