North/south divide in tender prices significant
North/south divide in tender prices significant
Tender prices in the south-east are 14 per cent higher than in the north, according to a study published recently by the building cost information service. Pricing levels in the UK vary quite considerably. The same project in different parts of the country will have different tender prices purely on the basis of location. This is largely due to differing input costs such as labour, plant and materials and demand for construction work in any particular location.
The BCIS Surveys of Tender Prices contains an update of the BCIS Tender Price Index; the Contract Percentages Study, the Study of Average £/m2 Prices, Functional Prices for a whole range of building types and pricing adjustment factors.
