BRE recently held one of its popular "design improvement" events entitled Euroclasses and the changing reaction to fire testing Requirements under the CPD at Garston, Watford.
This event outlined the current position with regard to the Euroclasses and changing reaction to fire test requirements resulting from the European Construction Products Directive (ECPD).
It provided information about the changing reaction to fire test requirements currently being implemented through the CPD and their impact on the current UK position and the wider European and World markets.
The fire division at BRE (FRS) is the UK's leading independent fire research and testing laboratory with an unrivalled breadth and depth of knowledge established over a period in excess of 50 years. It is the UK representative on the European Official Laboratories Group, working on the development of the Euroclasses and the speakers at this seminar will provide up-to-date information and views on the current position and potential changes.
The sessions enabled delegates to anticipate the potential implications of changing requirements and to understand the new "reaction to fire" Euroclasses system. A range of tests for construction products and for floor coverings will be explained, and complemented by a demonstration test.
As part of the day, delegates will be given the opportunity to view the new fire test equipment and to witness the single burning item (SBI) test.
The seminar will be particularly relevant to product manufacturers, product users, and regulating authorities, architects, fire safety engineers and fire protection officers.
