THE Library Association Record of April 1962 carried an article describing an interesting experiment with the ‘stripdex’ form of catalogue in the library of the University of Malaya. Since then there has been no further contribution to the subject, as far as I can discover, and librarians have yet to read a dispassionate appraisal owing less to enthusiasm and more to practical experience in the production and use of the stripdex catalogue as a working tool.
