FOR MANY YEARS the editorial library has been something of a Cinderella of the profession. A little aside from the main stream of library development, preferring press cutting to books as sources, most of them nevertheless provide an efficient current information service with economy, scarcely changed in their essentials for fifty years. All the more interesting then that computer developments may one day place the newspaper library in the forefront of automated library systems.
