This special issue includes original and complete full-written manuscripts from the oral presentations delivered at the 23rd IACM Computational Fluids Conference hosted by the Chilean Society of computational Mechanics (CSCM) and the International Association for Computation Mechanics (IACM) at Santiago de Chile, Chile, during March 17–20, 2025.
All authors attending the conference had the opportunity to submit their work to this issue. The Guest Editors team thanks the authors who have responded enthusiastically and with commitment to the call for manuscripts. All of them were peer reviewed following the strict double-anonymous rules. Three referees were assigned by manuscript on average, and each manuscript was reviewed at least two rounds. To reach such objective, approximately 130 recognized researchers in the fields of the manuscripts were contacted. The team of Guest Editors appreciate the effort and the time of the referees who have agreed to do the work and who have selflessly dedicated themselves to fulfilling all the requirements of this process, which helps to guarantee the high scientific level of the works included in this issue. As main Guest Editor, I want to make a statement, even breaking the rule of anonymity, as a tribute to Dr Gustavo Buscaglia, who passed away in 2025 and participated as a reviewer of this publication.
Personally, I would like to thank Prof. Roland W. Lewis, Prof. Rajesh S. Ransing and Dr Sherry Xu for their selfless support, provided regardless of the time, even working on weekends. I also want to thank the Emerald Publishing team members, particularly Mr Rakesh Sagar, Miss Catherine McAteer and Miss Joanna Jiao, for their help managing the issue and manuscripts. Everyone will say they were doing their duty, but they do it by putting their skills at the service of the people.
Finally, I hope the reader finds this issue interesting and useful for future research.
Sincerely yours,
Marcela A. Cruchaga
