Evaluating the Availability of Periodicals in Scientific Libraries in Poland

Describes the methodology employed in a study to ascertain the availability of periodicals – especially Western periodicals– in Polish libraries. The study also concerned itself with an evaluation of Polish union catalogues of periodicals and of the system for providing access to periodical holdings, both locally and through national and international interlibrary loan. Outline results only are presented since the full details of the study are reported in a study report to the International Federation of Library Associations.
