THE HUMANITIES: COURSES ON BIBLIOGRAPHICAL AND REFERENCE MATERIALS

The British Library Lending Division and the J B Morrell Library of the University of York co‐operate to provide courses on the structure and use of bibliographies and reference material in the humanities. Members of the courses receive specialist instruction and undertake detailed bibliographic work. A wide range of reference material is available with emphasis on new publications and developments in this field. The course is designed for experienced reference librarians and exchange of views is important. The subject field has to be limited to some extent to achieve the high level of work required, but is not so narrow that the course appeals only to a limited number of librarians.
