The development of interlending in the USSR

Has worked at the Lenin State Library since 1955, becoming Head of Interlending in 1983. She has been actively involved in the development of interlibrary lending in the Soviet Union. She is currently President of a Soviet Working Party studying international lending.

Describes the development of interlending in the former Soviet Union. Notes that the system faces problems caused by the absence of an overall framework of co‐operation within the library sector and the particular difficulties of international lending caused by budget and currency. Concludes that the further development of interlending in the former Soviet Union is dependent on fast and efficient communications.
