Brief communication: Document delivery in the Arabian Gulf Available to Purchase

Resource sharing through document delivery in the Arabian Gulf has yet to be achieved in spite of unifying factors, such as language, faith, economic base, and social and cultural conditions. Additionally, little has been achieved in implementing the ABEGS Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Code. However, the KFUPM Library is supporting resource sharing by providing ten articles per library per month free. The article presents the results of a study to measure success (fill) rates, turnaround times, and transmission methods. The results indicate 75.2 percent and 65.9 percent fill rates of the articles requested from the KFUPM Library and received by the KFUPM Library, respectively. The average turnaround time was found to be 13.2 days.
