NIT '99: The 11th international conference on new information technology (NIT) will be held in Taipei, Taiwan on 18-20 August 1999.

Advances in computing and communications technology have created a new infrastructure for education,research, commerce, and social interaction. As a result libraries and information centres can make available to their users a previously unknown level of service, featuring powerful global information access, retrieval and delivery capabilities.

This, the 11th in a series of conferences, will help focus on key problems and issues facing library and information professionals. There are three main topics covered: new information technology related topics; digital library topics; and interoperability.
