Northern Ireland Publications Resource (NIPR) has established a repository in Belfast for all Northern Ireland publications. The scheme depends on voluntary donation by local publishers of two copies of every item published. One copy is for preservation and the other is available for interlibrary loan within Northern Ireland.

NIPR has also established a dedicated database and Web site (http://www.nibooks.org) to make information about Northern Ireland publications available all over the world. There are links to publishers' Web sites and to electronic catalogues and related resources elsewhere.
