Recent news from the BRE includes the following:

  • The winning of DETR funding to establish a network group for composites in construction.

  • The fire testing of the six-storey Timber Frame 2,000 building at Cardington. The test demonstrated that timber frame construction can meet the functional requirements of the Building Regulations in terms of limiting internal fire spread and maintaining structural stability.
