  • The management of asbestos in non-domestic premises, Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002 comes into force on 21 May 2004. The HSE has recently launched the regulations at a conference in London and the RICS are holding nationwide asbestos risk management roadshows to promote awareness of the legislation.

  • Following consultation on proposals to require employers to investigate accidents the HSE has decided instead to issue guidance to help employers to investigate such incidents. There was overwhelming support for the principle of using incident investigation to learn lessons and prevent workplace injury and ill health.
