Editorial

The purpose of this special edition of the journal is to highlight and explore a range of key issues in conserving and managing built heritage. The title, Contemporary challenges in conserving built cultural heritage, was chosen in order to attract a range of papers that represented current, though not necessarily new, concerns facing those working in the sector.

Our aim was to produce a special edition with papers not only on a variety of subjects but also one which represented the work of people from a wide number of countries. In the end the papers were perhaps rather euro-centric but...
