Reform of fire safety legislation

Parliament has now agreed on the biggest single reform of fire safety legislation in over 30 years. Essentially the new law will consolidate over 70 pieces of legislation into one that will simplify the law for thousands of businesses while placing a greater focus on prevention. In addition in a consultation document, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has stated its intent to review the Building Regulations regarding the provision of fire safety in commercial and residential properties in the UK, to secure better protection for both employees and private individuals.
