It has taken a decade, but at long last Home Information Packs are here, if only for four-bedroom homes at present (three bedrooms are to follow shortly). Despite legal action by the RICS and calls for their abolition by the House of Lords and the popular press, they are now a legal requirement. However with stories of delays in getting energy inspectors and lenders not accepting the land searches contained within them, how long they will survive? Will the home condition report ever become mandatory? Watch this space!
