This special issue of the International Journal of Clothing Science and Technology presents a selection of papers from the 3rd International Technical Textiles Congress which was held on 1-2 December 2007 in Istanbul and organised by the Department of Textile Engineering, Dokuz Eylul University,Izmir, Turkey. ITTC has been held simultaneously with the Istanbul Technical Textiles and Nonwovens Fair HIGHTEX 2007 with the participation of scientific,industrial societies and companies from home and abroad.
The aim of the congress was to gather researchers and companies from all over the world which are working in the field of technical textiles and garments. As high performance products with special manufacturing techniques gain more importance IJCST is showcasing a number of important papers in this publication.
